Our Story

The Woolly Sisters

Lynley & Carrie

The Woolly Sisters little boutique wool business came about from Lynley’s love of sheep and Carrie’s love of crocheting and knitting. Our mother taught us from an early age how to knit, Crochet and sew and we have continued to make use of these skills all our lives.

The wool in our Blister Blockers, felt items, carded and spun wool and most of our crochet items come from Lynley’s flock of Valais Blacknose Sheep, the friendliest and cutest sheep in the world.

Lynley started her Valais Blacknose breed up program on her and husband Nigel’s farm in the Marlborough Sounds region of the South Island New Zealand in 2018. Wanting to do something with the long lush wool, started dying and felting it and has progressed from there.

Carrie has always loved to crochet which has grown into a passion to create one-of-a-kind throws and blankets. She started selling her products at weekend markets around Wellington where she lives. She started including Lynley’s wool in her creations and from there, The Woolly Sisters grew.
